How do the ageing population get government help for services?….

Well, this is a good question and one we hear a lot. We always encourage our clients to register with My Aged Care, whether you think you need it now, or not; it is better to be proactive rather than reactive.

Registering is easy and can be done either over the phone (1800 200 422) or online (it’s not as scary or difficult as it sounds) at www.myagedcare.gov.au  Their website is easy to follow and explains everything very clearly.

My Aged Care have now brought in a single assessment pathway meaning you will only have to tell your story once. Before, there were different assessment teams that could either recommended Commonwealth Home Support Program codes, or a team that could recommend Home Care Packages. This new pathway makes it all so much easier and smoother and you are only dealing with one team. Once you have your approved codes or Home Care Package, YOU get to pick a service provider of your choice. You are in control of your care.
